Only 10% of retail traders (people like you) consistently make money in the markets (Equities or Forex). However, trading the markets has never been more affordable and easier thanks to the Digital Age of Technology. If everyone CAN do it, why isn't everyone a millionaire?
Trading is obnoxiously hard because it is the perfect blend of art and science. A wonderful hybrid of human psychology and logical intuition. Yet, mainly it should be seen as a transfer of wealth from the uninformed to those knowledgeably informed about market fundamentals, technical analysis and macro/micro economic climates.
The knee jerk reaction to the complexity of information bombarding our psyche is to make our trading charts into a labyrinth of overlay-ed indicators. To some how search for that illusive 'Holy Grail' that will net 100% gains at every trade. Alas, these are the delusions of the naive traders. The veterans of the business (and yes it is a business so treat it with the respect it deserves) know one thing:

Picture yourself as a trader being a surfer on the ocean, the goal is not to control the waves or bend the waves to our will through sheer mental exertion. The surfer is merely there to catch a ride on wave to feel the exhilarating rush of zen harmony with nature. The aim is to catch a 'flow state' of harnessing the raw untamed environment for a sense of being in tune with heart beat of the universe in order to live out a greater purpose.
Like the surfer, we do not try to call the bottom or tops of the market and start our journey on the very infancy or late stage of a wave. Rather, we scout out strong healthy waves (solid trends), jump into the trade and ride the wave for a solid profit. If we miss a trade, no worries, there are always more waves in the ocean that we can catch. This is our philosophy of trading.
Our easy to use strategy will net roughly 60-70% winners. The other part comes down to simple money management techniques and a healthy mindset.
